Privacy notice
In short
Stilba is the trading name of STILBA LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales in 2023. This notice explains what personal data we handle when you visit our website or email us, and why we use it. It is short because we collect very little.
Who we are
STILBA LIMITED is the controller for the personal data described in this notice. We were registered in England and Wales in 2023, company number 15135962. Our registered office is 12 Kenchester, Bancroft, Milton Keynes, England, MK13 0QP. This address is for post only; there is no showroom and no visitors.
You can contact us at hello@stilba.co.uk. There is no phone number and no live chat.
What we collect
When you email us, we receive your name, your email address and anything you choose to send us, such as photos of a window. We keep what you send so that we can reply to you. You do not have to email us, but if you do, we need your email address to reply. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider's servers automatically record technical data. This includes your IP address, your browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This data is used to run the site and keep it secure.
We do not collect anything else. We have no forms on this website.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use personal data for two purposes only. UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each of them.
| Why we use your data | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Answering your email | Legitimate interests: our interest in replying to people who write to us |
| Keeping the site secure | Legitimate interests: our interest in keeping the website working and safe |
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies. Because it does not use cookies that need consent, it shows no cookie banner. There is no newsletter sign-up and nothing to log into. If our use of cookies ever changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We share personal data with our website and email hosting provider. Where needed, we may also share it with professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires it. We never sell personal data.
Transfers outside the UK
Our website and email are run by a hosting provider whose servers may be outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards that UK law requires. The safeguard depends on where the servers are. It may be UK adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum. Email hello@stilba.co.uk if you would like more detail about the safeguards that apply.
How long we keep it
We keep emails, and anything you send with them, for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. We may keep them longer if we have a legal reason to do so. Server records are kept by our hosting provider only as long as needed to run and secure the site, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it, to erase it, to restrict how we use it, or to object to our use of it. You can also ask for your data in a portable form where this right applies. There is no fee in most cases. We reply within one month. Email hello@stilba.co.uk to use any of these rights.
Complaints
You have the right to complain to us. Email hello@stilba.co.uk; we will confirm that we have received your complaint within 30 days, and tell you the outcome. You can also complain at any time to the Information Commission (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection: Make a complaint.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. The date tells you which version currently applies.
